Inspired by music of the Scottish highlands, Pipe Music evokes both rhythmic dance tunes and the melancholy melodies of bagpipes. Fluctuating dynamics intend to convey the breathing effect of the pipes, whilst also juxtaposing drones against counterpoint.

Composed for the PANdemonium4 Quartet, Ohio.
